Dentists rely on Colgate Duraphat Toothpaste for ultimate protection against cavities in teeth. The medicated toothpaste provides better quality protection than any other toothpaste in the market. It coats the tooth’s enamel and strengthens it. The toothpaste is the best solution for fighting cavities and further harm to the tooth.

Dentists prescribe this medicated toothpaste to patients who are suffering from tooth decay. Patients must be over 16 years old. Dentists prescribe the toothpaste as a treatment for conditions that affect the teeth. The toothpaste aims to treat patients suffering from past and present tooth decay. Other conditions include exposed dental roots, obesity and dryness of the mouth. The treatment extends to the negative effects of wearing dental braces and other appliances.

The best time to apply the medicated toothpaste is when tooth decay is in its early stages. Dentists prescribe this product to help reverse the effects of early stages of rot. It layers fluoride into the cavity and medicates the affected area. The longer the fluoride stays on the enamel, the stronger it becomes. This strengthens the tooth and limits the volume of plaque acids forming on the surface.

Plaque acids are unseen films that lay on the enamel of the teeth. If these are not taken out immediately, these will settle and deposit themselves. Once they settle in, it will be hard for the patient to take it out with regular toothpaste. These deposits use the body’s sugars and bacteria to cause decay on the enamel. If left untreated early on, these develop into caries. Dental caries is the actual decaying of the tooth. This is the part that leads to the formation of cavities.

In turn, the toothpaste promotes remineralisation from the saliva’s calcium, phosphate and fluoride. This creates better protection and resistance to plaque acid deposits.

The toothpaste controls the deposit of these plaque acids and also strengthens the teeth. This provides better protection against plaque and damages caused by dental caries.
