Mebeverine Hydrochloride

Colofac IBS contains mebeverine hydrochloride, which belongs to a group of medicines called antispasmodics. This helps the bowel to relax and stay in control, meaning you experience fewer cramps and episodes of diarrhoea.

IBS (or irritable bowel syndrome) affects around 10% of the population and tends to affect sufferers for life. Treating symptoms with Colofac IBS offers fast results, relief from discomfort, and a lower risk of future flare-ups.

Colofac IBS Tablets

Take the tablets by swallowing whole with a drink of water; do not chew. For best results, try to take the tablet 20 minutes before a meal, as a lot of sufferers find that their symptoms worsen after they eat.

The recommended dose is one tablet taken 3 times a day, but this dose can be lowered if your symptoms improve. However, you should not take more than 3 tablets a day, even if your symptoms are particularly bad.

If you forget a dose then you should simply take the next one as planned; do not double up on a dose to make up for a missed one. If you take too much then you should contact a doctor.
