Daktarin cream is used in the treatment of a variety of fungal and associated bacterial infections. These typically appear on the hands, feet, groin and nails, and Daktarin cream can also be used to treat nappy rash in infants.

Daktarin cream contains miconazole nitrate which works by destroying the fungus that causes the infection. It can also be effective against any associated bacteria that may be present and has moisturising properties to help to skin heal.

Most fungal infections are not dangerous but they can be itchy, uncomfortable and unpleasant. Clearing the fungus quickly with Daktarin cream will allow you to resume normal daily life.

Follow the guidance given in the enclosed patient information leaflet and be sure to read it before commencing use of the medicine.

Before using Daktarin cream for the first time you will need to pierce the seal using the exterior of the cap. Once you’ve done this the first time, you will be able to use it easily again and again.

Wash and dry the affected area of skin, being careful about which towels to use because fungal infections are highly contagious. Apply the cream to the infection and the surrounding areas and leave the absorb. Always wash your hands afterwards to avoid spreading the infection.

The recommended dose of Daktarin cream is to apply it to skin fungal infections twice a day, or to nail infections once or twice a day until it has cleared. Continue treatment for 7-10 days to ensure the infection will not come back.

If you forget to use it then simply skip the forgotten dose and apply the next one as normal. Do not double up on the dose.

If anyone accidentally swallows any of this product then go to your emergency department and take the product packaging with you.

Before taking this medication, you should always first check that it is suitable for you and any of your associated medical conditions. Do not take Daktarin cream if:

  • If you are allergic to any of the ingredients or any similar medications.

Because of the way that medications interact with each other, you should talk to a doctor before taking Daktarin cream if you are already taking any of the following medications:

  • Medicine to thin the blood

Ask a doctor about using Daktarin cream if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

You should cease using Daktarin cream immediately and contact your doctor if you experience any serious side effects or if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.

You can safely buy Daktarin cream online at UK Meds, without the need for a prescription or consultation with a medical professional, however you should adhere to the advice given in the patient leaflet enclosed.
