More Information

Driclor is a strong antiperspirant, suitable for treating heavy sweating of the armpits, hands and feet.

Driclor contains an ingredient called aluminium chloride, which works to successfully block the sweat glands and reduces the amount of sweat that your body is able to produce.

Although excessive sweating is not a dangerous ailment, it is one that can cause embarrassment and self-consciousness.

Everyone sweats in hot weather or after an exertive activity, but some people sweat excessively in their normal day to day lives.

Taking Driclor to bring the amount of sweat the body makes down to a normal level, allows sufferers to enjoy daily life without worrying.

Driclor is an over the counter medication. Always read the patient information leaflet provided in the medication packet and make sure you don’t take anything against a doctor’s advice.

The Driclor bottle will need to be assembled before you use it for the first time. Standing the bottle on a flat surface, unscrew the lid (and dispose of it) and gently push on the rollerball top. Screw the larger cap over the top to secure.

When applying the Driclor solution, ensure that your skin is dry and then apply to the affected areas using the rollerball (as you would with a deodorant). You should apply it at night and then wash the Driclor off in the morning. Bear in mind that Driclor is not a deodorant; it does not contain any perfume and you can continue to apply your usual deodorant in the morning as normal.

Driclor contains the active ingredient aluminium chloride, at a strength of 20%.

Each time you apply Driclor, simply add a thin layer to clean, dry skin on the affect areas (be it your armpits, hands or feet). When you first start using this medication, you should use it once every night and then wash it off in the morning.

As your sweat glands start to reduce their function, you may find that you can begin to only use Driclor two or three times a week (using the same method and timings).

If you forget to use Driclor then simply skip the forgotten dose and apply the next one as normal. Do not double up on a dose to make up for a missed one.

Before taking Driclor, you should always first consult your doctor. You should not take Driclor if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are allergic to aluminium chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

When applying this medication, you should take extra care to avoid your eyes, mouth and nose. If you accidentally get any in these areas then wash well with water.

Do not apply this medication to skin that is broken or damaged, and do not apply it to skin that has been shaved or had hair removal products used on it within a 12 hour time frame.

Be aware that Driclor can stain clothes so make sure that it has dried before it comes into contact with any. Avoid getting Driclor on jewellery or any metal surfaces because it could cause damage or staining.

The most common side effects of using Driclor include:

  • application site stinging,
  • irritation,
  • itching,
  • swelling,
  • burning sensation,
  • pain,
  • rash
  • redness of the skin.

If you do experience one or more of these side effects and they persist or worsen, then inform your doctor right away. Although fairly common, side effects can be unpleasant so make sure you are following the guidance contained in the patient information leaflet in order to minimise your risk. If you notice signs of an allergic reaction then contact your doctor immediately.

You can safely buy Driclor online at UK Meds, without the need for a prescription or consultation with a medical professional, however you should adhere to the advice given in the patient leaflet enclosed.
