Period Delay Medicine
Periods can be a great inconvenience. Fortunately, medication is available to allow you to have a bit of control over when your period starts. The drug is called norethisterone, which mimics the female hormone progesterone. This prevents a woman's uterous from ridding itself of the lining which is the cause of periods.
What is Norethisterone? It is a chemical that is similar to progesterone. It is the active ingredient responsible for stopping periods. Progesterone is a hormone that is naturally produced by the body. Your body produces less of it each month prior to your period starting. By taking this medication, your body is tricked into stopping your period for up to two weeks.
The potency of Norethisterone tablets is 5 mg. A woman who wishes to delay a period must take this pill three times per day for up to 17 days. This is the only medication in the UK authorised to delay a woman's menstruation cycle. The progesterone-like benefits of Norethisterone tablets are available to be purchased online from UK Meds.
You can buy Norethisterone tablets 5 mg from our online store at UK Meds. Some women cannot safely take Norethisterone, so it is a prescription-only drug. If you already have a prescription, we can fill it. If you do not, our online doctor's service can guide you into obtaining one or issue one electronically so that we may process and ship your order.
Will Norethisterone actually stop a woman's period from occurring? If taken three days prior to when it should begin, the effect of this medication is to delay the period. For up to 17 days, it is able to stop a period. "Stopping" is as you perceive it, however, because after a woman stops taking the medication their period is inevitable, and should begin within three days of having stopped.
Norethisterone is not a contraceptive. A woman may conceive child while using this period delay medication. You may, however, combine its use with an oral contraceptive pill to achieve the desired contraceptive effect.
How Long Can You Delay Periods?
You can take Norethiserone for a maximum of 17 days. You must begin taking them three days prior to when your period is to begin. Because of this, you are able to delay your period for up to two weeks. After discontinuing the pills, the period will typically commence within three days. Continuing use for more than 17 days can lead to hormone imbalance and other side effects.
