More Information

Nexium is a Proton Pump Inhibitor type of drug that works by reducing the acid produced in the stomach. Nexium is widely used to treat peptic ulcer, GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, dyspepsia, indigestion, and other diseases of the intestines as well as the oesophagus.

Nexium is a potent PPI medicine or Proton Pump Inhibitor class of medication used in preventing acid production in the walls of the stomach. PPIs like Nexium help prevent acid secretion inside the stomach. They impact the parietal cells inside the walls of the stomach. These parietal cells help release hydrochloric acid which is useful in the absorption of certain vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B12.

Nexium offers relief for a wide array of stomach related ailments. It works by blocking the proton pump in the stomach and inhibit the production of acid within the stomach. It prevents the production of harmful acids and offers relief for gastrointestinal reflux and related diseases.
