What is Kapake?
Kapake is a medication intended to treat and manage pain. The active ingredients of Kapake are paracetamol and codeine phosphate which are both pain killer medicines by nature. It is taken by adult patients in order to relieve moderate to severe pain.
How does Kapake work?
Kapake is a pain-killing medication which is a mixture of paracetamol and codeine and is effective in the prevention and management of pain.
Codeine works as a painkiller, it centrally works in the brain where the pain signals are sent and it inhibits it from sending these pain signals to the brain. Paracetamol, on the other hand, is similar in a way to codeine in terms of blocking pain signals in the brain. Both of them work together in relieving pain. Codeine prevents inflammation, while paracetamol works to reduce fever or high temperature making them both ideal in tackling the root causes of pain in patients.
What are the benefits of Kapake?
Kapake comes with codeine and paracetamol. Together they work hand in hand in relieving pain by blocking pain signals from being sent to the opioid receptors of the brain. In effect, this makes pain manageable and tolerable among patients who are in pain. This kind of relief helps a lot in easing the pain and medical condition endured by sufferers. Kapake is found useful in treating pain where regular analgesics, painkillers, paracetamol, or ibuprofens are unable to handle.
How do I use Kapake?
Always read the enclosed product information leaflet in the medication before you use Kapake.
Take Kapake as a whole by mouth without breaking or chewing together with a glass full of water. The recommended dosage for adults is 1 to 2 tablets or capsules to be taken every four to six hours in between dosage. Make sure you do not take more than 8 tablets within a day or 24-hour period. If you are not certain how you should take Kapake, ask your doctor about it.
If the pain experienced by the patient does not improve after three days of using Kapake, consult with your doctor about it.
Kapake is available in tablet form and in strengths of 30/500 mg. This consists of 30 mg Codeine Phosphate and 500 mg of Paracetamol.
The recommended dosage for adult patients aged 18 years old and above is 1 to 2 tablets every four to six hours. Do not take more than 8 tablets a day.
The recommended dosage for pediatric patients aged 12 years old and above is one tablet every 6 hours or up to a maximum of 4 tablets in a 24 hour period.
The medication is not allowed for patients aged less than 12 years as children can easily run the risk of opioid toxicity owing to the fact that they are unable to metabolize codeine or morphine for that matter.
For elderly patients, aged 60 and above; the recommended dosage is to take 1 to 2 tablets. To be taken every four to six hours. Do not take more than 8 tablets a day.
