This is a pain medication that contains opioids. They are also called narcotics. While it is a powerful pain medication, it is issued by prescription only because of its tendency to cause addiction.
In the UK, codeine is issued by prescription to treat mild to moderately severe pain. It is possible to be allergic to this drug. Avoid using it if you have uncontrolled breathing disorder, as it can potentially slow or stop your breathing.
This drug can be habit forming. It is important to only use the dosage prescribed to you by your physician. Codeine should not be given to a child just after surgery, especially not to treat pain from having tonsils removed or adenoids.
This is a controlled substance which requires a proper prescription. Here at UK Meds, we are able to issue an electronic prescription once you have completed our questionnaire. When ordering, make sure your doctor knows whether you have taken medication for depression, mental illness, Parkinson's disease, migraine headaches or nausea and vomiting.
Codeine comes in several doses, 15mg to 60mg. They can be taken, with doctor's permission, up to 6 times per day to treat pain. The maximum daily dose when combined is 300mg, or as prescribed by your doctor.
Above you will see a link to our codeine 30mg tablets. There are several other pain medications available above. Your doctor will help you decide which pain medication is right for you.
Dihydrocodeine is a semi-synthetic opioid analgesic prescribed for pain or severe dyspnea, or as an antitussive, either alone or compounded with paracetamol (as in co-dydramol) or aspirin.
Dihydrocodeine is used to relieve moderate to severe pain caused by diseases such as sciatia, Paget's disease and shingles. It is considered a moderate painkiller, and may be prescribed with paracetamol or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug to control moderate pain. Dihydrocodeine is more effective working together with paracetemol than when taken separately.
Dihydrocodeine is effective at treating moderate to severe pain including pain of sciatica (which is nerve pain of the legs and back). It also treats joint and bone pain (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and arthritis of the spine). It treats nerve pain, and pain following blood vessel disease, cancer or after an operation.
Co codamol 30/500 tablets contain two different medicines, called codeine phosphate and paracetemol. Codeine is part of a group of medicines called opioid analgesics which relieve pain. Co codamol is used for short term relief of severe pain. Codeine doesn't work as well on its own as it does when combined with paracetamol. You can buy Co Codamol (paracetemol with a low dose of codeine) over the counter. Higher doses need to be prescribed.
