What is Melatonin?

Melatonin is a naturally-occurring hormone in the body that is released by the pineal gland and it regulates our sleep-wake cycles. As a supplement, it is widely used for the short term treatment of sleeping troubles like shift work, jet lag, or sleep apnea.
