Cialis, Levitra, Staxyn, and Viagra to Treat ED

You may already know most of the names: Cialis, Levitra, Staxyn, Stendra, Viagra. Learn more about these medications that can help men with erectile dysfunction.

The FDA has approved several prescription drugs you take orally to treat ED.

What Medications Are Available?

All of these work by relaxing your muscles and boosting blood flow to your penis, making erections easier to get and maintain. They are:

  • Avanafil (Stendra)
  • Sildenafil (Viagra)
  • Tadalafil (Cialis)
  • Vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn)

Different Types of Erectile Dysfunction Medication

The following types of tablets and pills are available for the treatment of ED:

  • Sildenafil (Viagra)

Sildenafil, the original blue Pill from Phizer named Viagra, was the first erectile dysfunction tablet available to help men cope with ED.

  • Tadalafil (Cialis)

Cialis, like Viagra, is a PDE5 inhibitor. It has a slightly different effect in that an erection can be scheduled up to 36 hours in the future, or daily dose pills.

  • Vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn)

Vardenafil, which goes by the brand name Levitra, increases blood flow allowing for a man to maintain a firm erection. It is available in 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 mg dosages.

  • Avanafil (Stendra)

The final PDE5 inhibitor is called Avanafil, also known by brand name Stendra. It also works by relaxing muscles, allowing blood in and diminishing blood out.

What is Viagra?

If you're looking for Viagra UK, you have the option of the branded Phizer blue pill or the generic form called Sildenafil. Erectile Dysfunction

UK Meds asked our favorite doctor, Dr. Christian Jessen, to explain ED. Below is what he has to say.

Erectile dysfunction, or ED for short, is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection. Sexual function in men can decline after the age of 50, but there have been major breakthroughs in the treatment of ED with the development of convenient oral medication like Vardenafil, Tadalafil and Sildenafil, better known by the brand names Levitra, Cialis and Viagra. They work by increasing blood flow to the penis in order to help achieve and sustain an erection when sexually aroused. They can take around 30 to 60 minutes to work.

Sildenafil is avalable as the branded version Viagra, and also is the generic, and both are equally effective. Cialis, also known as the 'weekend pill' needs to be taken about 30 minutes prior to sexual activity, and can be effective for up to 36 hours. As well as oral medications, there are other options too and your doctor can help you decide which may be best for you.

UK Meds offers the generic and branded forms of Viagra and Cialis. If you need a prescription, the doctor's service at UK Meds can help you.
